The estate comprised 670 homes, primarily constructed in the 1960 ’ s.
360 homes are within Balfron Tower conservation area and include 156
and 88 homes in the Grade II Listed 28 storey Balfron Tower and 11
storey Carradale House. These buildings are considered to be amongst
the finest examples of the work of the Emo Goldfinger. Following on from
initially determining the condision of the existing properties and the extent
of remedial works required, a new 22 storey building will be constructed
on the Estate comprising 90 flats and 17,500 sq ft office accommodation.
